The West Branch Engineering Club has purchased a LEGO MindStorms 2.0 Robotics Invention System, a tackle box to house all of the 700+ parts, and an introductory textbook. The items have now arrived and are available for club members to sign out for up to a week at a time.
Here is a photo of our new MindStorms kit.

The kit is stored in the Engineering Library in Room 202. Please see Mr. Hoffman if you would like to sign out the kit.
Thanks go to Matt Snyder for taking the time to inventory all of the 700+ pieces to make certain that we received a complete kit. Matt also worked out a logical way to organize the parts in the tackle box.
If you are interested in learning about robotics, and HAVING FUN don't hesitate to sign out this kit! All of the parts, including the sensors, motors, and controller, are very durable. You needn't worry about breaking anything if you treat it in a responsible manner. The tackle box makes it easy to take the kit home without any danger of losing parts while in transit.
When you sign out this kit, be sure to sign out The Definitive Guide to LEGO MindStorms as well. It provides a very good introduction to building and programming LEGO MindStorms robots. It was written by Dave Baum, the man who developed the NQC programming language that we have been learning at some of our club meetings.
